  • Define primary and secondary food processing techniques
  • Master the processing techniques used for different kind of foods like cereals, legumes, oil and fats, sugar & jaggery, milk & milk production coffee & tea
  • Classify the categories of food processing/ techniques like preservation, extraction and transformation
  • Make flow sheets and process diagrams for processing various foods
  • Identify sources of contamination and enumerate measures to ensure hygiene and sanitation
  • Recognize select define the packaging techniques and packaging material
  • Design and use labels for marketing of different products
  • Become familiar with food laws and regulations and understand the symbols and certification marks
  • Make a project report for setting up a small food processing unit
  • Undertaking marketing of processed foods
